Avoid contamination by listeria
Listeriosis is an infection caused by bacteria found in prepackaged foods, smoked fish, raw foods, dairy products made from unpasteurized milk, and soft cheeses made from raw milk. Listeria is not heat resistant, so you can eat products that have been heat treated. Keep fresh products in the refrigerator at a temperature of 1 to 5 degrees, always respecting the expiry date.
Avoid contamination by salmonella
Salmonella is an intestinal bacterium transmitted by contaminated food or water. The risk of contamination is reduced by adopting good dietary and hygiene practices. Do not eat raw eggs or preparations made with raw eggs (chocolate mousse, homemade mayonnaise, etc.). Hard-boiled eggs and omelets can be eaten. As a general rule: cook your food well.
Avoid contamination by toxoplasmosis
Toxoplasmosis is caused by a parasite. If you do not have antibodies against this parasite, do not eat raw or half-cooked meat. You should also wash your hands well after cutting raw meat. You should also rinse raw fruits and vegetables properly. Peel them if possible.
Foods to eat in moderation
Too much vitamin A can cause birth defects in your baby. Vitamin A is found in eggs, butter, margarine, liver and liver products. It is therefore best not to consume liver during pregnancy. Also avoid caffeine contained in cola, tea, coffee and chocolate. In high doses, it can cause premature birth and low birth weight.
