Juices May Affect Drugs
Some medications carry the warning that they should not be taken with grapefruit juice, since it could affect the absorption of the drug. Now researchers at the University of Western Ontario are suggesting that orange and apple juices may also affect the absorption of some, but not all, medications. The take-home message? Read the warning labels of your prescriptions carefully, and ask your pharmacist if there are any food or juice interactions. And, to be on the safe side, take your medications with water, and enjoy your juice later!
