Reduce Postmenopausal Weight Gain

A couple of ways to keep the excess weight down after menopause.
Findings from the Women’s Health Initiative, which studied more than 36,000 women, suggest that supplementing daily with calcium (1,000 mg) and vitamin D (400 mg) may help to prevent some of the weight gain that is commonly seen in postmenopausal women.
But lead researcher Bette Caan, Dr.Ph., cautions, “You can’t overeat, not exercise, take a calcium pill and prevent weight gain.”
